Synopsis

Two Muslim girls dream of celebrating Christmas while their Christian friend imagines celebrating Eid. But when their parents raise their objections the girls must find a way to convince their parents that it’s really all about peace. Running Time: 45:30.

Cast

Aiishwariya Haran (Shazia Jamal) is a 7 year old girl from North York, Ontario. Aiishwariya is of Sri Lankan heritage. This is Aiishwariya’s first acting experience.

Sonika Ramachandran (Tasneem Jamal) is a 5 year old girl from North York, Ontario. Sonika’s heritage is East Indian. This is also Sonika’s first experience acting in a film.

Jacoba Barber-Rozema, who is eight years old, has acted in two movies: Miramax's Mansfield Park and A Wrinkle in Time. She plays the cello and loves soccer.

Film triggers launch of Peace Tree Day

The production of the film inspired Writer/Director/Producer Mitra Sen to bring the Peace Tree to reality by creating Peace Tree Day. The purpose of Peace Tree Day is to create a common festival where families and friends from all faiths and races can learn about and celebrate each other’s cultures, traditions and festivals together. Peace Tree Day is a time to educate, donate and celebrate. This new festival will be celebrated on June 1 of every year. The world’s first Peace Tree Day will be launched in Toronto, Ontario at City Hall on June 1, 2006.
